Congratulations to club member Philip Bridge on an excellent result at the British International Amateur Film Festival (BIAFF), flagship competition of the Institute of Amateur Cinematography (IAC).  The festival is hosted by a different IAC region each year and lasts for three days. MKCC is in the North Thames region. Philip’s video, “Anatomy of a Song” achieved five stars, which is the highest standard rating for a video/film (ratings go from 1 to 5). “Five-star” entries are then re-assessed by the judges to identify the top six for diamond awards and others for special prizes. This year, Philip’s entry was 1 of only 4 from the UK, out of a total of 15 internationally, that were awarded five stars.

The competition has been running for many years and was previously called the London International Amateur Film Festival (LIAFF) and the London Amateur Film Festival (LAFF) before that. The IAC was started in the 1930s and the competition is believed to have started around the same time.

Philip’s “five-star” video, “Anatomy of a Song”, will be uploaded on the club’s YouTube channel in the next couple of weeks.
